Dear St. B’s Parents/Caregivers:
How does the saying go ‘April showers bring May flowers?’ Let’s hope they are rain showers and not snow showers! It’s been a long cold winter – we’re due for some warmer weather soon J April is another busy month! Spring has sprung in St. Barnabas and we’re celebrating all the wonderful things that come with Spring! We have lots going on at St. B’s this month while we welcome the April Showers, and hope for May flowers soon!
What we’re Exploring:
Spring, Insects, Pond Life, Easter, and all the great things that come with Spring, will be our main focus for the month of April.
Early Registration for the 2017/2018 school year will start on TUESDAY APRIL 18th to THURSDAY APRIL 27th. Please find registration packages located in the front entrance. To guarantee your child’s spot for September 2017 we require the registration package forms completed and registration fee paid – for RETURNING CHILDREN the fee is $25.00 and for NEW CHILDREN (i.e. siblings of children who have, or are attending) the fee is $50.00 – payment can be made by cheque, email money transfer – firstname.lastname@example.org, or cash. Just a reminder that MORNING SPOTS go FAST!
Our Public Registration will OPEN on May 1st. If you know of families who are looking for a Preschool Program in the fall, please send along our information! Information about the OPEN HOUSE and 2017/2018 School year Registration can be located in the front hall mid-April. Our Open Houses will be on Monday May 1st from 4:00 to 6:00, and Wednesday May 3rd from 4:00 to 6:00. There will be time slots for personal tours the month of May.
The school will be CLOSED on Easter Monday – April 17th, 2017.
Individual and group photo proofs for ordering will be back around Easter. There will be a notice when the proofs arrive and parents/caregivers can find their child’s pictures and order forms in their child’s art file.
Ever wonder what your little ones do when they’re at school? Well, this is a perfect opportunity to join us at St. B’s and play with them! We’re inviting parents and caregivers to come spend some time with us. From Tuesday April 18th to Wednesday 26th morning and afternoon programs will be ‘Parent Visits’ times – come for the whole program, or just stay for an hour – the program will run on the same schedule. This is a wonderful time to see your child(ren) interact with their classmates and show you around! No need to schedule a time – it’s a drop in program during that time.
We say a very sad good-bye to Renee! Renee has had a very successful placement @ Kinderschool and we only wish her the very best in her next placements and completing her ECE Diploma. We hope to see Renee back at Kinderschool soon!
This is a reminder that PARKING is PROHIBIITED by the front doors of the church. This is for the safety of our children and families who walk by there to enter the school. PLEASE park in the back parking lot. If you require assistance (i.e. if you have a young one waiting in the car) please see one of the St. B ladies to make other pick up arrangements – we would be more than happy to bring your child up to the back door if needed.
Scholastic orders are due to Lauren by Thursday, April 6th. Please pay with cheque, or if you’d like to pay by credit card, please see Lauren for further information.
LABEL LABEL LABEL:
Now that spring has sprung and we’re putting away the winter clothes and boots, and spring coats and rain boots are brought out, we ask that you please LABEL all items with your child’s initials or first name – this just helps us when we are preparing the children for home time and dressing. Mabels Labels is a GREAT tool! For more information about our fundraising with Mabels Labels, contact Jen.
Our Sweatshirts ($25.00) and T-Shirts ($15.00) are available for purchase! Sizes and samples will be located in the foyer! Get them while they’re here, and then send us a photo of your child sporting their Kinderwear!
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!
Our Community Helpers Theme will take place in Late May and early June. We are looking for any parents/caregivers who are community helpers (i.e. work for the fire department, paramedics, police officers etc.) Please let one of the St. B Ladies know, if you know of someone who would be willing to come in for a visit during our Community Helpers theme! With MUCH thanks!
HAVE A WONDERFUL APRIL!
Jen and the St. B Ladies
